Course overview

The course will introduce the theory and practice of effective ecosystem monitoring of the natural environment. This course will cover methods used to monitor different aspects of ecosystems in aquatic, marine, and terrestrial settings. Students will develop advanced understanding of monitoring through engagement with case studies of existing programmes, and active learning during practical sessions. Particular focus will be placed on both contemporary approaches, as well as looking to the future of ecosystem monitoring and key developments.
