Course overview

This course provides advanced genetics practical skills to accompany topics explored in Genetics 3A.

Course learning outcomes

  • Carry out hands-on practical experimental skills and techniques and/or computer analysis approaches applicable to genetic research
  • Interpret and present experimental findings in various formats
  • Apply skills in experimental design to critically evaluation examples and/or design experiments to address complex genetic questions
  • Work collaboratively in a team-based environment, demonstrating effective communication, project management, and problem-solving skills to achieve common goals
  • Perform laboratory techniques safely and according to legislative requirements
  • Adhere to scientific regulatory requirements and research integrity standards for data collection, storage, analysis, and documentation

  • must have completed all of BIOL2005 Genetics 2A: Introduction to Genetic Analysis/BIOL2006 Genetics 2B: Applications of Genetic Analysis
