Course overview

This course addresses advanced ecological concepts, dealing with populations, communities and ecosystems, and examines various approaches to their studies, including experiments and models.

Course learning outcomes

  • Understand fundamental ecological principles and assess complex ecological patterns and processes utilizing contemporary conceptual models.
  • Locate, evaluate, and analyse pertinent literature in ecological journals and discern knowledge gaps.
  • Develop research designs to address existing knowledge gaps in ecology, both collaboratively and independently.
  • Apply and interpret results from diverse methodologies (experiments, field surveys, and modelling) for ecological analysis.
  • Present ecological study findings concisely, clearly, and accurately.
