Course overview
Students will build advanced laboratory skills for Molecular and Biomedical Science majors (Genetics, Biochemistry, Microbiology and Immunology) which includes a group research project or individual research laboratory placement.
Course learning outcomes
- Demonstrate hands-on practical experimental skills and techniques frequently used in molecular and biomedical research
- Demonstrate essential skills in experimental design, results, analysis and problem solving
- Demonstrate appropriate application of computer-based tools to investigate molecular and biomedical research questions
- Work effectively in small teams and communicate outcomes to a larger group of colleagues
- Demonstrate safe laboratory practise
