Course learning outcomes
- Demonstrate competence in fundamental laboratory skills including use of autopipettes, preparing/calculating dilutions, isolation/enumeration of microorganisms
- Describe how essential molecular biology techniques are applied to research/diagnostics
- Design simple experiments with appropriate explanation of controls and experimental samples
- Explain appropriate laboratory practice e.g. use/purpose of PPE
- Correctly interpret and present/discuss data e.g. using statistical software
