Course overview

Contemporary issues in archaeology offers our third-year archaeology and classical studies students the opportunity to explore key three areas. First, we look at professional archaeological practice– what will you be expected to know as a professional archaeologist in Australia and overseas? Second, we explore best practice for professional archaeologists including working with First Nation communities. Finally, we create a space for students to develop their research skills in archaeology and classical studies with a focused individual research project. This course will prepare our archaeology and classical study students for employment in the sector and/or further research.
