Course overview
Learners develop an understanding of legal principles informing property rights including land rights and Native Title and legal principles and procedures underpinning state based land use policy, regulatory functions and legislative obligations/frameworks in professional practice.

- Analyse the legal context of urban and regional development and aboriginal land rights
- Explain the development approval and planning review process and application of planning law in dispute resolution
- Critically review the importance of a range of ethical issues in the professional practice of planning
- Understanding of legislative instruments governing planning, zoning and property rights
