Building upon theoretical and creative-practice concepts introduced earlier, this course will present research as a means for creating new disciplinary knowledge that has broader value. It will introduce a variety of research methodologies and explain the formulation of theoretical frameworks. Learners will plan a substantial research project, conduct relevant literature review, and execute components to reflect on research outcomes. This course aligns with the program intent to develop advanced knowledge of context and methodology in creative-practice and exercise cultural agency through design.
Course learning outcomes
- Conduct literature review, synthesise existing knowledge, and identify gaps to inform research
- Formulate a research proposal relevant to architecture and creative-practice
- Undertake independent research, considering scope & limitations, and reflect on research process, outcomes & significance
