Course overview
This course aims to equip learners with advanced knowledge of construction practices and latest developments in materials and technologies. The course will explain how socio-economic and cultural contexts effect construction practices for medium to large scale buildings. It will explore digital tools for analysis and fabrication of complex structures and building envelopes, and introduce emerging materials and technologies. Learners will develop a workflow between 2D drawings, 3D modelling, BIM and manufacturing technologies, and produce documentation to communicate contextually appropriate construction practices. This course aligns with the program intent to apply specialised disciplinary knowledge for architectural production.
