Course overview

This course will expand students' understanding of professional design practice and to support their transition into practice. Students will develop advanced knowledge of practice theory, professionalisation and interdisciplinary practice. Students will develop advanced skills in contract administration, preparing a portfolio, verbal presentation techniques, documenting achievements, generating work, identifying expertise, marketplace positioning, developing business plan, promoting professional practice, registrations of interest, and competition briefs.

  • Evaluate the work place expectations and future directions of the design profession
  • Apply professional design skills to diverse design project briefs
  • Produce and present professional communication documents, project brief analysis and project administration.
