Course overview

To develop an appreciation of the range of ethical issues relevant to working as a professional planner in urban and rural environments.

Course learning outcomes

  • Critically review the importance of a range of ethical issues in the professional practice of planning.
  • Demonstrate a critical understanding of environmental ethics as these relate to planning decisions.
  • Critically evaluate the content and role of professional code of ethics and their value to a profession.
  • Critically reflect on the role of the planner as an expert.
