Course overview
This course will develop students’ knowledge and skills in the broader issues of interior design and multidisciplinary collaborative practice in the professional negotiation and communication of project work. Students will apply design skills to spatial planning, scale, context and detailing. Students will develop their skills in ethical practices, leadership, groupwork and conflict negotiation within collaborative design projects and settings.
Course learning outcomes
- Integrate verbal and visual communication strategies, design principles and methodologies into multidisciplinary practices and collaborative project work
- Effectively negotiate and communicate project work through a variety of means
- Utilise an advanced level of presentation skills
- Articulate a creative and innovative understanding of the professional practice of interior design through research and writing
