The course Introduction to Planning aims to provide students with a broad overview of the history and purposes of urban and regional planning.

Course learning outcomes

  • To provide students with an understanding of the historical background to the modern planning profession and contemporary planning principles, concepts and approaches
  • To have students apply contemporary planning principles, concepts and approaches to developing an understanding of contemporary planning issues
