Course overview

This course will provide students with an understanding of health management, biosecurity, epidemiology and disease investigation in animals.

Course learning outcomes

  • Describe basic epidemiological processes relevant to management of animal health
  • Describe how animal management practices impact on disease in animals
  • Describe the threat posed to Australia by exotic disease and the role of biosecurity measures in managing this threat
  • Exhibit skills in problem solving, critical analysis, teamwork and communication
