Course overview
The aim of this course is to provide students with a fundamental understanding of the fate and behaviour of contaminants in soil, and their effects on and risks to biological systems.

- Identify potentially toxic contaminants and their sources in the environment
- Describe environmental properties and behaviours of potentially toxic chemicals.
- Describe transport and transformation processes of chemicals in soil.
- Evaluate the ecological effects of toxicants on terrestrial ecosystems.
- Assess ecotoxicological risk and potential limitations in risk assessment practices.
- Understand environmental protection regulations and potential remediation technologies.
