Course overview

The aim of this course is to fly solo at night, and experience the boundaries of the aircraft flight envelope whilst managing the changes in energy. Confidently operate an aircraft at night under visual flight rules.

Course learning outcomes

  • Operate an aircraft solo at night managing simulated in-flight emergencies, and demonstrating the capability to utilise visual and instrument aids to safely navigate at night.
  • Consistently demonstrate good decision making, situational awareness, airmanship and threat and error management by recognising and avoiding potential conflict, deviation from normal operations. Respond correctly to simulated or real in -flight emergencies.
