Course overview
This course will develop students' skills in identifying and planning aviation related research project and introduce them to both qualitative and quantitative research methods including using SPSS for data processing and analysis. Contents include qualitative and quantitative methods in aviation research, research problem formulation, research design, questionnaire surveys, research ethics and introductory statistical analysis.
Course learning outcomes
- Identify and clearly define research questions and objectives related to aviation.
- Plan an appropriate research approach using qualitative and/or quantitative methods in aviation studies.
- Design and conduct questionnaire surveys in line with established research principles.
- Use SPSS to perform basic statistical analysis of aviation research data.
- Interpret research results and communicate findings clearly and ethically in written form.
- Demonstrate an understanding of research ethics and responsible research practice in aviation.
