Course overview

This course enables students to synthesise advanced accounting, finance and business analysis skills in addressing complex, real-world problems within a professional or simulated industry context. Working both individually and collaboratively, students investigate authentic client issues, evaluate financial and non-financial information, and deliver evidence-based, ethical and professionally communicated outcomes that demonstrate mastery of applied research and strategic judgment.

Course learning outcomes

  • Integrate advanced theoretical and technical knowledge of financial analysis and related areas.
  • Apply advanced technical knowledge and skills to critically analyse financial data to investigate problems in accounting or finance contexts.
  • Select and use information from data bases used in accounting and finance.
  • Design and execute research in collaboration with others.
  • Communicate research findings effectively to specialist and non-specialist audiences using clear, professional written and oral formats.
