The support you need to thrive at university

The Student Wellbeing and Safety teams provide personal counselling, triage for urgent needs and critical incidents involving students, specialist counselling and care coordination as well as holistic health and wellbeing projects and initiatives. It’s about having access to the right support, resources, and opportunities that can help you succeed academically and in life.

Whether you’re looking for someone to talk to, practical tools to navigate challenges, immediate assistance, or ways to stay connected and engaged, support is always within reach.

Need emergency support?

If you are in crisis or feel you can’t keep yourself safe: 

  • Call Triple Zero (000) for ambulance, fire or police emergencies 
  • Go to your nearest hospital emergency department 
  • Call University Security (available 24/7) on (08) 0313 5444 or 1800 500 911 for on campus emergencies. 
  • Call Mental Health Triage (available 24/7) on 13 14 65  
  • Call Lifeline (available 24/7) on 13 11 14 
  • If you are outside Australia, contact your local emergency or crisis services, or a local hospital.

For out-of-hours crisis support for Adelaide University students contact the University Crisis Line:

  • Available weekdays 5pm–9am and 24 hours on weekends and public holiday

Counselling and wellbeing services

Counselling

A team of diverse counsellors providing free and confidential support in a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all students.

Our counsellors can help you explore your needs and find ways forward. If you need additional support, we'll help you find the right services.

Respect at AU

Respect at AU helps you find support, reporting options, and information on where to get help if you or someone in the university community has experienced any concerning behaviour.

This includes gender-based violence, sexual harassment or sexual assault, fraud or corruption, discrimination, racism or harassment.

This service helps you explore and connect with wellbeing support so you can thrive at university and beyond.

Health and medical services

Are you looking to make a health or medical appointment? There are various options on campus. 


A university-owned GP practice with locations across City West, City East, Elizabeth, Magill and Whyalla. Clinics provide a range of health care services delivered by GPs, nurses, and allied health practitioners.

This is an independent GP practice located on City East campus. They provide a range of health and medical services. 

Bupa is Adelaide University’s preferred Overseas Student Healthcare Cover (OSHC) provider and is available on campus for support.
