First Nations Admission Access is a pathway designed to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples to study at Adelaide University. It offers an alternative entry into undergraduate degrees if you don’t meet the standard entry requirements through SATAC or don’t have an ATAR.
This pathway is available to people who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
To be eligible, you must:
Be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent
Identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person
Be accepted as such by your community.
First Nations Student Support has a fair and respectful admissions process. Completing an application doesn’t guarantee entry and you’ll need to meet the course requirements and follow the steps outlined below.
How it works
Once you apply for an Adelaide University course, a Future Student Engagement Officer will contact you to discuss next steps.
If your chosen course uses ATAR as part of its selection criteria, you may be asked to complete an ACER literacy and/or numeracy test. You might also be invited to an informal interview, where we’ll consider your life experience, work history, education, and training to help assess your readiness for study.
You’ll still need to meet any course prerequisites or additional requirements (like submitting a folio). The selection process is non-competitive, and your application is assessed on its own merits, not compared to others. If you’re not offered your first preference, we’ll help you explore other study options.
