Unique Student Identifier (USI)

Unique Student Identifier (USI)

What is a USI?

A USI (Unique Student Identifier) is your individual education number for life. If you're at university, TAFE, or undertaking other nationally recognised training, you’ll need a USI.

It’s required to access Commonwealth financial assistance such as HECS-HELP, FEE-HELP or OS-HELP, and for graduating from your program.

Who needs a USI?

All students (domestic and international) must have a USI. If you’re an international student, you can create your USI once you arrive in Australia.

How to get a USI?

You can check if you already have a USI or create one via the Australian Government’s USI website. When creating your USI, make sure your personal details match those you’ve provided to Adelaide University.
