Cross-institutional students

Cross-institutional study refers to students enrolled in an award program at another university who are undertaking one or more courses at Adelaide University that will count towards their qualification at their home institution. 

Students enrolled in cross-institutional study at Adelaide University are responsible for paying the relevant tuition fees or student contribution for the courses they undertake, and will receive an invoice for each study period they are enrolled in.


Domestic students

If you're enrolled in a degree at another Australian university and studying one or more courses at Adelaide University that count towards your qualification, you're considered a domestic cross-institutional student.

Depending on the course and your circumstances, you may be offered either a Commonwealth Supported Place or a fee-paying place at Adelaide University.

You're guaranteed a Commonwealth Supported Place only if the course you're studying at Adelaide University is a compulsory part of your degree at your home institution, and you're already a Commonwealth supported student there.

If you're offered a Commonwealth Supported Place, you'll need to complete the online Request for Commonwealth Support and HECS-HELP form as part of your enrolment.

If you're a fee-paying student and want to access FEE-HELP, you'll need to complete a Request for FEE-HELP Assistance form for each institution you're enrolled in.


International students

International cross-institutional students are required to pay tuition fees for their study at Adelaide University.

Withdrawal

If you decide to withdraw from a cross-institutional course, you’ll need to drop the course in myAdelaide before the census date for that study period. If you don’t, you may still be charged and receive a system-generated result like Withdraw Fail.

To avoid this, check the academic calendar for:

  • census dates
  • Withdraw not Fail deadlines
  • other key dates.
