Understanding the student complaints and appeals process

The Student Complaints, Appeals and Conduct team within Student Governance supports student complaints and appeals, remaining committed to assisting students during their academic journey.

What does the Student Complaints, Appeals and Conduct team help with?

Help is provided through the following:

  • Handling escalated student complaints
  • Checking student appeals for eligibility and assessing for grounds
  • Negotiating outcomes
  • Referring appeals to the Student Appeals Committee, where appropriate 
  • Advising staff and students on related policy and processes. 

The Student Complaints, Appeals and Conduct team support student conduct as follows:

  • Promoting the Adelaide University Student Code of Conduct
  • Providing guidance to students on meeting the expectations of the Code
  • Providing executive support to the Student Conduct Intervention Group (SCIG)
  • Advising staff on responding to conduct concerns
  • Reviewing referrals for potential student misconduct
  • Supporting the Student Misconduct Tribunal and other misconduct bodies.
