English Assist is here to support your academic language development

The English Assist Program is here to help you develop your speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills for university study. The two workshop courses in the program, Communicate & Connect and English for Coursework Success, are designed to support students studying an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree. 

The program offers a series of workshops that take place throughout semester and are designed to assist in the development of communication skills and academic skills in the university context.

These skills are able to be applied in a variety of contexts, regardless of your subject area, degree, or professional experience, and the program is also a great opportunity to meet other students and make new friends.

English Assist Program timetable

There are two courses of workshops in the English Assist Program, and you can enrol in both! Use the timetable below to find the workshop times that suit you best.

English for Coursework Success is a series of free, optional two-hour weekly workshops open to all commencing international students at Adelaide University.

The English for Coursework Success workshops (ECSs) support the development of knowledge for specific academic contexts and assignment types. The workshops are designed to give you the skills you need to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English for your courses.

Communicate & Connect is a series of free, optional 50-minute weekly workshops open to international students by coursework at Adelaide University.

The workshops are designed to help you to develop your written and spoken communication skills at university, and to acquire the confidence to apply these skills in a variety of contexts to achieve your academic goals.
