First aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation training

To attend clinical placement in most Adelaide University health degrees, you must complete Provide First Aid training and update your Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) annually.

Make sure you enrol in training with a registered and nationally recognised training organisation (RTO). The course must include both practical and theoretical components. You can verify your provider with the National Training Register.

What is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO)?

Registered training organisations (RTOs) are providers approved by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), or in some cases a state regulator, to deliver vocational education and training (VET) services. RTOs are recognised for delivering nationally accredited qualifications under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). Only RTOs are authorised to offer nationally recognised courses and AQF VET qualifications, as required by legislation across Australia.

The Basic Life Support & Manual Handling training course is open to all Adelaide University students, however the training is specifically targeted toward nursing, midwifery and allied health students.
