Psychology student placements

These courses are designed to help you:

  • apply psychology knowledge and skills in a workplace setting
  • demonstrate professional behaviours and skills in real-world environments
  • develop reflective practice as a foundation for lifelong learning and professional growth.

Bachelor of Psychology  (BPSYC)
Complete a 150-hour placement in Semester 1 or 2

Bachelor Psychology (Honours) (HPSYC)
Complete one 100-Hour placement in Semester 1 or 2

Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) (majoring in Counselling and Interpersonal Skills) (HPSYC)
Complete one 100-Hour placement in Semester 1 or 2

Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) (majoring in Cognitive Neuroscience) (HPSYC)
Complete one 100-Hour placement in Semester 1 or 2

Master of Psychology (Clinical) (MAPSC) 2026
Complete one 405 hour placement in Semester 1
Complete one 405 hour placement in Semester 2

Social work and social science student placements

Bachelor of Social Work (BSOCW)
In third and fourth year, you’ll complete two placements of 500 hours each. You’ll attend between three and five days per week (about 68 full-time equivalent days per placement).

Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) (HSOCW)
You’ll complete two placements of 500 hours each.

Bachelor of Social Science (Ageing and Disability) (BSOCS)
In your final year, you’ll complete two placements of 280 hours each. You’ll attend between two and five days per week (about 37 full-time equivalent days per placement).

Bachelor of Social Science (Human Services) (BSOCS)
In your final year, you’ll complete two placements of 280 hours each. You’ll attend between two and five days per week (about 37 full-time equivalent days per placement).

Master of Social Work (MASOW)
In first and second year, you’ll complete two placements of 500 hours each. You’ll attend between three and five days per week (about 68 full-time equivalent days per placement).
