We deliver expert international trade analysis, policy development, and capacity building.
IIT delivers applied, policy-relevant research and capacity building across three pillars—Southeast Asia, the trade–environment nexus, and the evolving global trade system. We design and evaluate trade rules (RCEP, AANZFTA); map trade-related climate measures and green value chains (hydrogen, green iron/steel, critical minerals); and analyse geoeconomic and digital disruptions to supply chains.
Our capabilities span policy design and reviews of NTMs and standards; services and human-capital diagnostics; TRCM mapping with MRV/certification templates and carbon-leakage risk analysis; and scenario testing for reshoring/friend-shoring and low-carbon corridor design. We convert evidence into impact through tailored training, fellowships, policy labs with gender and inclusion mainstreamed, and high-level dialogues and executive seminars (e.g., the Road to Belém series).
Our track record includes AANZFTA NTMs and services policy reviews; implementation support for RCEP/AANZFTA and ASEAN+1 NEI assessments; regulatory alignment under IA-CEPA (food and drug standards); services-supply-chain and IORA trade analysis; human-capital programs in Cambodia; Timor-Leste’s ASEAN accession support; the Australia–Thailand Trade & Investment Engagement Report; and the AANZFTA 15-year communication project. Across these, we deliver briefs, working papers, sector reviews, and closed-door roundtables that help governments and firms harmonise policies, implement agreements, and build resilient, sustainable growth.
