 Scholarship and other funding opportunities

Scholarships to support your research journey

Adelaide University is committed to supporting graduate research students throughout their degree. In-candidature scholarships provide targeted financial assistance to help you progress your research, participate in conferences, undertake fieldwork or manage unforeseen challenges during your candidature. The range of scholarships and eligibility criteria may vary depending on your discipline and stage of study.

Scholarship rounds

Graduate research scholarships at Adelaide University are offered through competitive rounds held throughout the year. These rounds provide opportunities for both domestic and international students to apply for funding aligned with their research goals and academic performance. Each round has specific eligibility criteria, deadlines and application requirements. View current and upcoming scholarship rounds.

Travel scholarships

Travel scholarships provide additional financial support to graduate research students undertaking research-related travel. These scholarships are designed to assist with expenses such as fieldwork, conference attendance or collaboration with external institutions.

Travel scholarships may be awarded as part of competitive rounds and may vary by faculty or discipline. Graduate research students are encouraged to review eligibility criteria and application timelines carefully.

If available, these scholarship opportunities are individually listed in the University's scholarship database.

Additional funding opportunities

In addition to major and travel scholarships, there are other opportunities available to graduate research students to top up their income or to supplement their operating costs. These opportunities can be funded by philanthropic sources, industry programs or research grants. These scholarships are individually listed in the University's scholarship database.

Most, but not all, of these opportunities are offered separately to the scholarship rounds and require a separate and specific application or Expression of Interest. You will find information about how to apply for individual scholarships attached to the funding opportunity in the University's scholarship database unless otherwise advertised by your College, School or Institute.
