Get to know the Adelaide University Graduate Research School 

The Adelaide University Graduate Research School (AUGRS) operates under the leadership of the Pro Vice Chancellor – Graduate Research Training. 

During the course of your candidature, you are likely to get to know the Adelaide University Graduate Research School very well. It is a one stop shop for everything related to your degree and the first area to contact whenever you have a question about your research program, candidature or scholarship, development and graduate researcher experience.  

The AUGRS is also the starting point for prospective graduate researchers, providing information about the process of admission and scholarship application and enrolment. 

The AUGRS is organised in such a way as to provide domestic and international graduate researchers with ease of access to information and services throughout the lifecycle of their program of study.

This includes: 

  • Admission to graduate research programs - Domestic and International applicants 

  • Graduate Research Scholarships - Domestic and International applicants 

  • Enrolment 

  • Candidature management 

  • Graduate Research & Innovation Training (GRIT) 

  • Thesis preparation and examination

Pro Vice Chancellor – Graduate Research Training

Professor Carolin Plewa was appointed as Pro Vice Chancellor – Graduate Research Training at Adelaide University in December 2025. She has a passion for inspiring and empowering the next generation of future research and innovation leaders, and for delivering outstanding outcomes for our valued graduate researcher cohort.

During her previous role as Pro Vice Chancellor (Researcher Education) and Dean of Graduate Studies at The University of Adelaide, she led the development and implementation of a dedicated Graduate Research Strategy. Carolin worked collaboratively with others to achieve scaled industry engagement and internships, introduce oral examinations, implement changes strengthening quality supervision, and introduce initiatives facilitating a strong community and improved graduate research student experience. 

In her research, Carolin specialises in the interaction and value co-creation across organisations and individuals, with a particular emphasis on university-business collaboration and market shaping, as well as service and social contexts. For further information, please see here.
