About me

I am a senior lecturer, course coordinator & Breast imaging stream lead in the medical sonography program, with an academic background in medicine and radiology. My expertise is in women's health diagnostic sonography and online learning. My focus is to foster life long learning in students. My doctoral research is on supporting student self-regulated learning and higher order thinking  and explores students' knowledge transfer from online courses to real life jobs. My innovative online teaching practices on authentic assessments and higher order thinking have gained local, national and global recognition, including the AAUT citation for outstanding contribution to student learning from Universities Australia and the Online Learning Consortium's (USA) "Innovation in online learning to support student learning". I recieved the Higher Education Advance Fellowship (FHEA), recognising attainment of the UK Professional Standards Framework for teaching and learning in higher education. I am proud to be the inaugural Fellow of the Australasian Sonographers Association for my sustained contribution to the profession.  I have held several leadership roles in national and international sonography education committees. The most rewarding collaboration is with the World Health Organisation in the ACTION trials.

As a senior lecturer, course coordinator and stream lead in Medical Sonography, I bring over 20 years of expertise in women’s health sonography and interdisciplinary education. With a background in medicine and radiology, I contribute strategically to the development and delivery of three innovative sonography programs at , advancing excellence in online higher education and clinical translation. Recognised nationally and internationally for leadership in digital pedagogy, student-centred learning, assessment innovation, and social impact, I integrate scholarly inquiry with practical application to enhance learning outcomes and professional standards. My doctoral research on learning transfer from online education to clinical practice reflects my commitment to fostering  student lifelong learning.
