About me
I am a Senior Research Fellow in the Computer Science Education Research Group (CSER) and Project Lead for CSER's National STEM Professional Learning programs, including Digital Technologies MOOCs, a national Lending Library and Maths in Schools Professional Learning Program. Our highly-regarded programs have reached over 59,000 educators across Australia, with a particular focus on disadvantaged schools.
I have qualifications in Education and expertise in Learning Sciences, Computer Science (Digital Technologies) Education, Teacher Training and Educational Technology. I have collaborated extensively with various stakeholders across industry, education, and government to deliver $22.3 million in successful consultancy and research contracts ($13.5 million as CI) in education. I receive invitations to contribute expertise and presentations toward a broad range of communities, including Computing, Higher Education, Teacher Education, government, industry and community associations.
My passion for engaging more young people, and particularly girls/women and other underrepresented groups in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) study pathways and careers, drives many of the projects I deliver and the research I undertake. I am particularly proud of our partnerships working with First Nations Australian education experts to incorporate culturally responsive pedagogy into the programs we deliver to ensure our programs are responsive and engaging to all learners.
