About me
Dr Lisa Bailey is Director of MOD., Australia's
award-winning future-focused museum at the University of South Australia. With
a PhD in Biochemistry, she transitioned from bench research to science
communication, developing programs across exhibitions, digital content, events,
and film festivals.
Lisa has worked in science
engagement at cultural institutions in South Australia and the UK, including
roles at the Royal Institution of Great Britain and as Program Manager at The
Royal Institution of Australia. She has lectured in Science Communication at
Flinders University and contributes to research in participatory museum design
and communicating complexity.
She served as President of
Australian Science Communicators from 2018-2021, supporting the national
community of science communicators and journalists. Lisa's work focuses on
creating accessible science experiences and exploring how museums can better engage
diverse audiences with complex ideas and futures thinking. At MOD., she leads a
team developing innovative approaches to science communication and futures
thinking.
