Academic Library Academic Engagement

About me

Karen Ayles is an Academic Librarian within the Academic Engagement Team of the Adelaide University Library. From 2022 to 2025 Karen supported the Academic Units based at the Magill Campus: UniSA Justice and Society and UniSA Creative. In this role Karen supported teaching, learning and research activities including:
  • developing and delivering information literacy programs
  • providing support to Research Degree Candidates across the duration of their PhD
  • providing assistance with author profiles, research metrics and publishing
  • providing assistance with the use of online resources
  • identifying resources for purchase to assist in research and teaching
Prior to this role Karen was an Academic Librarian based at City West supporting UniSA Business, UniSA Creative and Law as part of the Justice and Society (JUS) Academic Unit. Karen was also the Acting Research Connections Librarian for the UniSA Library from September to December 2019 and has previously been a Campus Librarian at both the Mawson Lakes and Magill Campuses of UniSA. 

Karen was  a recipient of the inaugural JUS Champion Award at the 2020 UniSA Justice and Society Awards for professional and academic staff. This was in recognition of her support to law school academics. Karen together with other library colleagues was also a recipient of a 2018 UniSA Business School Achievement in Teaching & Learning Award. This award recognised the Library's contribution toward the establishment of the UniSA Business Enterprise Skills program.
