Profile of Jessica Robinson

About me

Jessica is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker in the Counselling team. She aims to offer students a compassionate, non-judgmental counselling session, with a focus on helping students to feel more hopeful and in control of their lives. Jessica is especially interested in helping students work through anxiety, perfectionism, relationship challenges, worries about sexuality or body image, relational trauma, and power imbalances or oppression.

Jessica has worked for nearly 15 years in a range of mental health settings, including early intervention counselling with young people at headspace, Community Mental Health Teams in both Australia and the UK, and hospitals and acute crisis settings. She has facilitated therapeutic groups, staff training and clinical supervision, and has worked across various leadership roles.

Jessica enjoys using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Self-Compassion Therapy, DBT, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused, and neuro-affirming approaches.

In her spare time, Jessica likes being outdoors and connecting with nature, as well as spending time with friends and family. She recently completed a Masters of Mental Health Practice, so understands the challenges of fitting postgrad study around a busy work and family life! She is also part of the LGBTIQA+ community.

Jess currently works on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
