About me

Hermione is a qualified Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, committed to providing a safe, trauma-informed and supportive environment for students. She is well-known for her warm, person-centred, non-judgmental approach which provides students a safe space to discuss difficult issues. She also holds strong values in social justice, cultural diversity, neurodiversity and gender diversity. Hermione has over 18 years local and international experience of therapeutic counselling in a variety of settings including Early Psychosis services, private practice, family and adolescent mental health services and at-risk youth services.

As a Student Counsellor, Hermione offers support to students who are dealing with challenging circumstances, including (but not limited to) cultural shock, adjustment issues, stress management, depression and anxiety, grief and loss, situational crisis, childhood trauma and interpersonal difficulties. She provides integrative, evidence-based therapies including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Family Systems Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

As a former international student herself, Hermione developed a unique understanding of the challenges balancing wellbeing, academic requirements and cultural expectations. In her spare time, Hermione enjoys running, swimming, Hip Hop and Contemporary dancing, hiking and traveling. She is also fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin.

Hermione works Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
