About me
Dr Guodong Yuan (Gordon Yuan) is a Senior Lecturer in Finance and Financial Planning in the School of Accounting and Finance, College of Business and Law, Adelaide University. Since 2020, he has also served as a Course Facilitator for Adelaide University Online. He holds additional professional qualifications in digital learning, migration law, and financial planning. Prior to his current appointments, Dr Yuan accumulated extensive teaching and research experience in both Australia and China.
His academic interests span finance, accounting, and taxation. His research focuses on digital education, gender equity, market valuation, taxation policy, corporate governance, and financial markets. His recent work concentrates on emerging themes such as artificial intelligence, ESG, corporate political engagement, green finance, and tax aggressiveness in transitional economies, particularly China. His research has been widely published in international peer-reviewed journals and scholarly book chapters.
Beyond academia, Dr Yuan is actively engaged in industry and community initiatives. He is a full member of CPA Australia and an academic member of the Financial Advice Association Australia (FAAA).
