About me
Emily is an accredited mental
health social worker who has worked in a diverse range of settings for 13 years.
This has included various clinical mental health and counselling roles with families
in remote Aboriginal communities, people at the end of life, and with people
experiencing family and domestic violence. Emily has also worked in senior
social work positions and brings to her work a broad understanding of systems, trauma
informed practices and continued learning efforts in working cross culturally on
unceded land.
Emily’s approach to working
alongside students is founded on compassion, collaboration, and care. She has a
strong sense for where power lies and continually works to dismantle and
acknowledge her own. Emily believes that your expertise can be the foundation
of creating conversations together that draw out the preferred story for your
life that can be honoured, celebrated, and seen.
Emily has a special interest in narrative
and just therapy and an interest in the role of self-compassion, mindfulness,
nature and ecosystems. Emily has completed 200 hours of yoga teacher training, and
many days of silent meditation both of which contribute to how she show’s up in
her work.
Outside of the office Emily is an
outdoor adventurer with creative pursuits.
Emily works every Tuesday, Wednesday,
Thursday and alternate Fridays.
