About me
Sultana is a Bangladeshi-born Australian social worker with extensive experience providing trauma‑informed therapeutic support to adolescents, young adults, and their families. She spent over 15 years in South Asia working on human rights issues and remains strongly committed to social justice. In her role as a student counsellor, Sultana fosters a safe, inclusive, and neuroaffirming environment where individuals feel supported and valued. She assists students with a wide range of challenges, including building community and belonging, emotional regulation, cultural adjustment, stress management, grief and loss, and relationship or parenting concerns. Sultana is fluent in Bengali and has a working understanding of Hindi and Urdu. She utilises evidence‑based therapeutic approaches tailored to individual needs, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution‑Focused Therapy (SFT), and Narrative Therapy. Outside of work, Sultana enjoys walking in nature, gardening, and learning Somatic Therapy.
