What we do and how we partner

Our research focuses on current and future health issues, creating solutions by working with partners from across different industries and the world. Our research strengths and capabilities span many areas:

  • Pharmaceutical and biomedical science: developing new cures for diseases, vaccine technology innovations, cancer diagnostics and treatment, and supporting all stages of novel therapeutics and drug development.
  • Aboriginal health: working closely with Aboriginal Peoples and communities to help reduce the life expectancy gap, support community wellbeing and understand how to apply traditional Aboriginal medicines to wider health treatments.
  • Clinical health: exploring clinical advances in persistent pain, nursing and midwifery workforce safety, health service evaluation, rehabilitation management and services including chronic conditions.
  • Community health: understanding population health through big data and nutritional and genetic epidemiology, public rural health innovation, returned veteran support through the Invictus Pathways Program, and understanding and improving aged care and disability.
  • Preventative care and wellbeing: designing and implementing digital health strategies, mental health and suicide prevention, perinatal care support and foetal health, and understanding childhood health and wellbeing. Adelaide University has a particular interest in nutrition and exercise science.
  • Clinical trials: delivering an integrated clinical trials ecosystem for early- to late-phase studies across diverse therapeutic areas, supported by advanced infrastructure and translational research expertise that enables end-to-end trial delivery.
