Working with Government to serve our communities
Through our research, analysis and subject-matter expertise, Adelaide University contributes to the development of public policy and legislation across areas central to South Australia’s and Australia’s future, including education and skills, health and medical research, energy transition and climate policy, defence and national security, economic development, innovation and industry capability, primary industries, regional development, and social and community wellbeing.
We work with state and federal governments, departments and agencies to bring evidence, data and independent expertise to complex policy challenges. Our insights inform reform agendas, strengthen public sector capability, and support better long-term outcomes for the community.
We also partner with local governments, vice-regals and foreign government representatives visiting or based in Australia, ensuring Adelaide University plays an active role in diplomacy, civic life, industry development and state engagement.
By collaborating with government, we amplify the impact of our researchers, educators and students — enabling their work to shape programs, services, technologies and public value across the state and nation.
