Trusts and bequests entrusted to the University are carefully managed to ensure compliance with the donor’s wishes
Trusts and bequests provide income for a wide range of University purposes including prizes, awards, bursaries, scholarships, fellowships, professional chair positions, research funding, books and publications and College equipment.
A register of all bequests and trusts is maintained where the capital is held in the University’s Endowment Fund or where the capital is held by an external trustee. The register is available for University staff only and is used for administration purposes.
Through the Trusts and Governance Framework, the University ensures that the income of each trust is spent for the purpose specified by the donor.
