Small animal services

The Roseworthy Veterinary Hospital provides general and specialist veterinary consultations, surgeries and emergency care for all types of small animals.

Regardless of if your best friend is a cat, dog, bird, reptile, native animal or in between, we have a genuine interest in ensuring your companion animal remains healthy and receives the best treatment for their situation.

Appointments can be requested via email or by contacting us on 08 8313 1999.

Our Small Animal Emergency team provides rapid, expert care for urgent and critical cases in dogs, cats, and other pets. We manage a wide range of emergencies, including trauma, poisoning, severe illness, and sudden surgical conditions.

With 24-hour monitoring, advanced diagnostics, and immediate access to our specialist teams, we ensure pets receive timely assessment, treatment, and ongoing critical care.

Please call us prior to travelling to the hospital as it helps us to prepare for your arrival.

Our general consulting clinic is similar to other vet practices, except you may also enjoy the company of a student vet when you visit us. Student involvement often results in a more intensive and thorough examination of your pet, as the consultation is an opportunity for the student to increase their knowledge and skills of various conditions, procedures and treatments. There are no extra costs associated with student involvement.

Please note that if an emergency arises, there may be a delay to your appointment time. General consultations are available between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday, and between 8am-1pm every Saturday.

Our Small Animal Services include:

  • Behaviour Consultations (*note, for some cases, ongoing referral may be required)
  • Neonatal care and whelping
  • Dentistry
  • Desexing, Vaccinations & Microchipping
  • Ophthalmology – Eyes at Prospect
