Choose the Roseworthy Veterinary Hospital for the best possible medical care for your horses and livestock.

The Roseworthy Veterinary Hospital is home to purpose-built operating theatres, recovery and neonatal stalls, sports medicine facilities, and reproductive and isolation wards. Specialised areas, advanced monitoring, imaging, and scoping equipment complement these facilities.

Veterinarians, technicians, and veterinary students work together as a team to provide the best possible health care for horses and livestock, applying advanced imaging such as CT and state-of-the-art surgical techniques under expert supervision. This hands-on experience is an integral part of our commitment to training the next generation of veterinary professionals.

The Roseworthy Veterinary Hospital facility opened in late 2013. Today it is a busy centre housing a number of specialist veterinarians, general practitioners, technicians, and staff who all have a deep affection for animals.

The Roseworthy Veterinary Hospital offers a 24-hour 7-day service for emergencies.

Emergencies are consulted on a priority basis depending on the urgency of the situation. If you are unsure if your animal’s situation is an emergency, please contact the hospital. We will advise you of the best possible course of action.

Outside of normal business hours and on weekends, your calls will be transferred to our after hours veterinarian. The vet will triage your situation and provide advice about any emergency treatment you can administer immediately. They will advise whether your pet is required to visit our hospital for treatment.

Please call us in an emergency so we can prepare for your pets' arrival. When you arrive at the Roseworthy Veterinary Hospital our staff will meet you at the gate and undertake a health assessment of your pet. Once a detailed assessment is completed, our vet will advise you of a plan for the next 24 hours and any associated costs involved. During this time we will let you know of any changes in the animal’s health, or any costs which may occur.

We understand that this can be a stressful time for you and your horse, so we encourage you to try to remain calm and travel safely.

Payment for emergency services must be settled prior to leaving the facility, and facilitate VetPay as an alternate option.

How a field call works:

  • When you make an appointment, we’ll discuss your location and where and how the patient will be housed for a clinical examination.
  • A team consisting of a veterinarian, veterinary students and a technician will travel to your location.
  • You or someone who knows the symptoms and history of the patient will need to be present.
  • Payment via EFTPOS or cash is expected at the time of service in the field. VetPay can be processed in-clinic, with your consent.
  • In some instances, a patient may need to be transported to our hospital for further procedures or tests. If further treatment is required,
we will refer the animal to our barn where monitoring, fluid administration and observation will occur.
