Your responsibilities as an authorised Adelaide University Agency partner

As an authorised agency partner, it’s important you understand your responsibilities and represent Adelaide University with accuracy and integrity to support prospective international students.   

Adelaide University is a higher education provider that is registered to offer education services to international students. To provide these services to international students, the University must comply with the legislation and regulations required by the Australian Government and the National Regulator, Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA).    

The Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000 (ESOS Act) sets out the legal framework that governs the delivery of education to international students in Australia on a student visa. Visit the Australian Government’s Department of Education website for the ESOS legislative framework.

Our expectations

As an Adelaide University agency partner, your responsibilities are detailed in the Adelaide University Agent Agreement. These include, but are not limited to: 

  • Actively promoting the University and recruiting students in an accurate, ethical, and professional manner. 
  • Addressing enquiries from prospective students by providing current information about the University's degrees and relevant admission criteria. 
  • Assisting students with admission applications through the agent portal in StudyLink. 
  • Ensuring all relevant staff members are suitably qualified, experienced, and aware of their obligations. 
  • Promptly acting on any reasonable directions from the University, including completing and returning surveys and self-evaluations, completing training, and maintaining agency contact details through StudyLink. 
  • Adhering to any Adelaide University policies or procedures to assess whether a student is a Genuine Student with the purpose of achieving a successful education outcome. 
  • Obtaining written consent before undertaking any promotional activity, advertising the University, its programs, or using the University logo. 
  • Complying with Adelaide University policies and procedures, the Australian International Education and Training Agent Code of Ethics (found in ANNEXURE A of the Adelaide University Agency Agreement), and the ESOS legislative framework.
  • Not engaging in any dishonest practices and not providing immigration advice where not legally authorised to do so.
