The Cloisters

The Cloisters

Historic courtyard venue for vibrant outdoor events

The Cloisters Courtyard is one of Adelaide University’s most atmospheric and recognisable outdoor spaces, offering a striking blend of heritage character and open-air flexibility.

Featuring red-brick arches, Tuscan columns, and warm terracotta tones, the Cloisters has long been a beloved gathering space for students and staff.

Surrounded by historical architecture and connected to the iconic UniBar ADL, The Cloisters is a memorable setting for celebrations, festivals, social events, and photography.

Features

With three separate bookable zones, the Cloisters is a versatile space that extends to the lawn area and walkway facing Victoria Drive.

Configuration options include cocktail setup with a capacity of over 1000, or cabaret to seat 400.

The Cloisters provides access to both water and standard power only. Food trucks are generally permitted for after-hours events.

Conditions of use

To maintain integrity of the lawn area, any marquees must be weighted rather than pegged.

Barbecues may be used in the lawn area only, however a fat catcher is required.

Any alcohol served must be obtained through the UniBar. Contact the UniBar directly for information.
