The Library can help you make strategic publishing decisions to maximise the visibility of your research and help you demonstrate the impact of your research.

Adelaide Research and Scholarship (AR&S)

AR&S is Adelaide University’s digital repository. It provides a platform for the University community’s research outputs, access to digital collections and records, and a pathway to fulfilling research grant funding and Open Access requirements. Information on AR&S and how to deposit your research is available here.

Metrics and Impact

The Metrics and Impact Guide introduces you to benchmarking performance using metrics such as journal quartiles, category normalised citation impact (CNCI) and altmetrics. Distinguish yourself from other researchers and increase the visibility of your work with author profiles such as ORCiD.

Research promotion via social media

The Social Media Guide provides tips from Adelaide University researchers on how they use social media effectively to promote their research including platforms such as X, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook.

Copyright

Learn about how copyright impacts you as a researcher including your rights and obligations. Copyright for Research and Publishing  page contains information on copyright for researchers and the tools and support available to help you manage the copyright in your research, including theses.

Researcher Profiles

Researcher Profiles is an online profile for researchers to increase your visibility and the valuable work that you undertake. Learn more about how to make the most of your Researcher Profile here.

The University promotes open access publishing. Open access publishing supports the free flow of information and contributes to the sharing and verification of research findings. Open access aims to increase the visibility of researchers and the University across the global research community. The Open Access Publishing Guide will help you with your open access publishing goals.

Effective management of research data is vital to the success of your project. Start with the Library Research Data Management Guide if you are unsure about where to begin, or see below to learn more about the Research Data Management tools available at Adelaide University.

Figshare

Figshare is the Adelaide University's official data and digital object repository with unlimited local storage.

It is available to all current staff and HDR students to upload research data and digital objects. When you publish your data or metadata on Figshare, it is assigned a DOI and becomes more discoverable including on Research Data Australia, Google Datasets, and other platforms.

Research Data Planner

It is a University Policy requirement that researchers and HDR students create a research data management plan for any research project where the lead researcher is a University staff member.

Research Data Planner is a web-based service that connects with Research Master to draw in existing project information. This means that when you are creating your plan, some of the project information will be pre-filled. If Research Master holds no information about your project, you can use Research Data Planner to create a plan from scratch.

LabArchives

LabArchives is an electronic research notebook that can be used across all discipline areas where there is a need to store and organise working research data and digital material.

All current staff and students can access LabArchives on Adelaide University’s Lab Archives site. Because it is cloud-based, you can access it anywhere and at any time via the internet or mobile app.

Data in LabArchives are stored in Australia and there is no limit to the size or number of notebooks that you can create and share.

The Library can help you search the literature effectively and comprehensively using a range of search tools and techniques.
