The Mawson Lakes Campus Library is also known as the Sir Eric Neal Library, named after prominent businessman Sir Eric Neal who trained as an engineer at the South Australian School of Mines, a predecessor institution of Adelaide University. The Mawson Lakes Campus Library offers a variety of spaces for study, research and group work. 

The library is home to the Sir Eric Neal Special Collection which can be accessed by appointment, through Ask Library.

Highlights include: 

  • Pedagogies in Practice collection, supporting pre-service teachers prepare for practicum 

  • Over 600 individual study spaces

  • Over 75 computers 

  • Meeting rooms

  • Printing, scanning, and photocopying facilities 

  • Designed to be a welcoming place for students to study, learn, and recharge

The library is located in building C of the Mawson Lakes Campus. Within the library there are multiple lifts providing access to all levels of the library.  

  • Accessible toilets are located on each level of the library. 

  • An Adaptive Technology Suite is available for Adelaide University students use. You will need a registered Access Plan to be able to access the suite. More information is available from Access and Inclusion.

  • A Multi-Access Suite provides members of the University community with access to a private and appropriate space that supports the needs of parents, breastfeeding parents, and people with disabilities, medical or mental health conditions. The following items are available for loan from the lapsafe in the library: 

  • Over 600 study spaces (combination of desk, group, carrel and computer) with some being bookable.  
  • Group discussion areas
  • Quiet study area is all of level 3* 
  • Silent study area located in C3-17*
  • Over 75 computers
  • Meeting rooms
  • Kitchen facilities
  • Binder and binding supplies
  • Lockers
  • Laptops for loan 

*Mawson Lakes Library is currently undergoing a refurbishment on level 2. The noise from the refurbishments is audible across all levels. Alternative study spaces have been made available in SCT building for the duration of the works. 

The returns chute is located in the foyer before you enter the library.  Items can be returned to any of the Adelaide University libraries.

 

Printing is available and uses your student quota. All of the printers in the library can also be used for photocopying and scanning. Learn more about printing, photocopying and scanning in the library.

Bring your own charging cord and use one of the many power (and USB power) points throughout the Library.
