Magill campus

The Magill Campus Library is also known as the Colin Thiele Library, named after prominent Australian author and educator Colin Thiele who is known for his award-winning children's fiction. The Magill Campus Library offers a variety of spaces for study, research and group work. 

The library is also home to the Colin Thiele Special Collection which can be accessed via Ask Library

The library is located at the Magill Campus, the library entrance is on level 2 of Building B directly above Security. There are lifts and stairs adjacent to Security. Within the library there is a lift providing access to the mezzanine.  

  • Accessible toilets are located outside the Library entrance. 

  • An Adaptive Technology Suite is available for Adelaide University students to minimise the impact of disabilities or medical conditions. Register with Access and Inclusion to access the suites with your student card. More information is available through Access and Inclusion.

  • A Multi-Access Suite provides members of the University community with access to a private and appropriate space that supports the needs of parents, breastfeeding parents, and people with disabilities, medical or mental health conditions. The following items are available for loan from the lapsafe in the library: 

  • Over 600 study spaces (combination of desk, group, carrel and computer) with some being bookable  
  • Group discussion areas 
  • Quiet study areas are available until 5pm weekdays in B2-43, B2-54, B2-55 and Mezzanine B3-01. These are silent zones after 5pm weekdays and all day on weekends and public holidays
  • Silent study area located in A2-07 when not being used for training. The following are silent zones after 5pm on weekdays and all day on weekends and public holidays: B2-43, B2-54, B2-55, Mezzanine B3-01
  • Over 170 computers
  • Group study zone
  • Study rooms   
  • Height adjustable desks 
  • Kitchen facilities
  • Binder and binding supplies
  • Laptops for loan

The returns chute is located just before the library entrance, on the left.  Items can be returned to any of the Adelaide University libraries.
