The Law Library, also known as the Sir John Salmond Law Library, is a research and reference library offering access to a wide range of Australian and international legal resources.  

The majority of the library's holdings comprise the statutes and law reports of the Commonwealth of Australia and Australian states, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, United States and Canada. Collection strengths include significant journal holdings and text collections in comparative, international and environmental law.

The Law Library is located on the ground and lower ground floors of the Ligertwood building on North Terrace at Adelaide City Campus East.  View campus map.

Both the ground and lower ground levels of the Law Library are accessible via a card-operated lift located near the main entrance to the Ligertwood building. 

  • Accessible toilets are located outside the library on level 2 of the Ligertwood building  

 
  • Over 25 individual study carrels
  • 25 group study tables
  • 10 study rooms for group or individual study
  • 2 specialised rooms for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students (with computers)
  • Over 50 computers.

There is a returns chute at the Ask Library desk on the ground floor of the library. Items can be returned to any of the Adelaide University libraries.

A mobile returns chute is also in the reception area on Level 1.
