Support and services

The Library is committed to providing equitable access to services and resources for users with either a temporary or permanent disability. AU staff with a disability and students with an Access Plan are eligible for:

  • The Off Campus Library Service (OCLS): Provides postal or email delivery of library resources and documents to you if you are unable to visit our campus libraries in person.
  • Appointments: Make an induction appointment with the Library, where you can discuss how you to access Library resources. Meet with us online or face-to-face. Contact Ask Library to request an appointment.
  • Alternative formats: If you need course readings or other Library resources in a different format to support your study or research, we can help. Just reach out to your Access and Inclusion Advisor to request a format change.
  • Requesting of items and photocopying.
    • Place your requests via Library Search for both physical loans and scanned items. Requests are filled within 24 hours - where possible.
    • Staff can also help you photocopy or scan a chapter or article yourself in the library or if you need help retrieving an item from the shelves.
    • Please note: the Library can copy material subject to the 'fair dealing' provisions of the Copyright Act. Should you require more than this, we can liaise with Access and Inclusion staff to see if your requests can be accommodated.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students can access a variety of supports to assist with your education journey. The Library offers periodic introduction workshops, gathering spaces such as Tirkanthi Yangadlitya, individual induction appointments, and much more. If you are interested in accessing these supports, please speak with a First Nations Student Support Officer, or Ask Library.

Staff and students are also encouraged to explore a wider range of general supports, which are listed on the Marni Naa Pudni page.
